Welcome to Oxford University First Aid Unit.

Oxford University First Aid Unit (OUFAU) was founded in 1991 with the purpose of providing medical cover for events and first aid training within the University and its Colleges.

Our volunteers are drawn primarily from the student body of Oxford University, although membership is open to all persons interested.  All members of OUFAU have undertaken training enabling them to save lives, and in order to maintain skill levels we require each of our new volunteers - regardless of qualifications - to undertake a course in basic resuscitation.

We are happy to consider collaborating with other individuals and organisations with aims consistent with our own, providing that we can be assured of the quality of training or patient care delivered.  Our activities are overseen by a Medical Director (a Consultant with interests in Pre-Hospital Care) and we have strong links with specialist departments both within the University and with the local hospital trusts, ensuring that our practices always comply with the latest nationally-recognised protocols and standards.

We are registered as a student society with the university's authorities, operating under a constitution and are a non-profit making organisation.

Latest news:

We have now relocated to new premises - all correspondence should be sent to our Ewert House address.
