Policy statements

All organisations that wish to use the CRB’s Disclosure service are required to comply with its Code of Practice.

In addition, they are required to have in place policy statements on the Secure Storage, Handling, Use, Retention and Disposal of Disclosures and Disclosure Information and on the Recruitment of Ex-Offenders.

Before we can countersign any Disclosure applications from an external body, we require a copy of these two policy statements from the organisation – samples are available in the CRB’s documents DIP 011 and DIP 012.
