Charges for use of Umbrella Body service for processing Disclosure applications

Oxford University First Aid Unit charges a one-off fee to consider each organisation that wishes to use its Umbrella Body service: this is non-refundable if, in the judgement of our Countersignatory, the organisation is not recruiting for the type of position for which a Disclosure could legally be issued.

Each Disclosure application is subject to an administrative fee from Oxford University First Aid Unit. This is to cover our administrative costs in forwarding paperwork and a single meeting to check / countersign a Disclosure application and is non-refundable should you decide not to proceed with the use of our Disclosure service or should the CRB for any reason refuse to provide a Disclosure.

Finally, the CRB levies a fee for the issue of a Disclosure – this falls due to OUFAU at the time the application form is countersigned. Persons who meet the following definition of a ‘volunteer’ are exempt from this fee alone:
"a person engaged in an activity which involves spending time, unpaid (except for travel and other approved out-of pocket expenses), doing something which aims to benefit some third party other than or in addition to a close relative".
– Police Act 1997 (Criminal Records) Regulations 2002

At the time of writing the applicable fees are as follows:

Item Fee
One-off fee from OUFAU to consider suitability of organisation / position(s) £50.00
Administrative fee from OUFAU per application £15.00
CRB fee for the issue of a Standard Disclosure £29.00
CRB fee for the issue of an Enhanced Disclosure £34.00
