Processing of Disclosure applications

Upon receipt of the necessary paperwork and payment we will forward the necessary application form(s) to the client organisation by post.

Once the applicant has completed pages 1-3 of the form, e-mail us to arrange an appointment so that the application form(s) can be countersigned. You will need to bring plenty of original identification along to this meeting (photocopies are not acceptable) – a full list of acceptable documentation is provided in the CRB’s leaflet DIP 002 – together with another cheque (again, made payable to "Oxford University First Aid Unit") for the appropriate CRB fee(s).

We will then check through your application form and countersign it – subject to our being satisfied that the applicant is eligible for a Disclosure – before forwarding it to the CRB for processing.

Should a further meeting be necessary because your application is incomplete, you have brought along insufficient documentation to the initial meeting, or the form is returned to us for any reason by the CRB, a further administrative fee (currently £15) will apply per occasion.

OUFAU has no control over the speed at which CRB processes applications and cannot ask for individual applications to be afforded a high priority.

The current information we have is that, from the time of receipt of a correctly-completed form, the CRB is taking approximately two weeks to process applications for a Standard Disclosure and four weeks to process applications for an Enhanced Disclosure.
