Attending First Aid at Work, Sports First Aid, or Advanced First Aid courses

We now have a new system in place for members wishing to take a First Aid at Work, Sports First Aid, or Advanced First Aid course:

(i) To reserve a place, you need to send arrange a time to call in to our office with a deposit cheque for £200 and your cheque guarantee card.
With effect from January 2005, it is our policy to require to accept "guaranteed" cheques only, so please do not post your cheque to our office.
Deposit cheques should be made payable to "OUFAU" and post-dated to six months after the course finishes.

(ii) Upon receipt of your cheque, we will confirm by email that a place has been reserved and joining instructions together with pre-course reading will be forwarded in due course.

(iii) Deposit cheques will be encashed in the event of:
        (a)    non-attendance,
        (b)    failure to provide any event cover for OUFAU within three months of completion of the course, or
        (c)    failure to provide the requisite amount of event cover for OUFAU within 12 months of completion of the course (50 hours for FAW / SFA, 100 hours for AFA).

(iv) Only one set of outstanding duty hours at a time is permitted (ie: if you have previously attended an FAW course then you cannot attend an SFA or AFA course until you have completed the requisite duty hours for your FAW certificate etc).

Please note that we now require a satisfactory Disclosure from members before we can allow them to provide event cover.  The current information we have from the Criminal Records Bureau is that it is currently taking approximately four weeks to process Disclosure applications, but we have no control over this timescale.  Members may wish to obtain a Disclosure before committing themselves to providing event cover for OUFAU.
